6th BSAS R and Statistics Workshop 2017

Introduction

BSAS is once again hosting its R and Statistics Workshop.

This is a two-day practical techniques course aimed at postgraduate students in the animal sciences, and open to non-student BSAS members, that want to learn R and refresh their knowledge of statistics. It will be held at the University of Cumbria, Bowscale Building, Fusehill Street, Carlisle, Cumbria. CA1 2HH.

Led by Dr Davina Hill, this hands-on course aims to make statistics clear, straightforward and fun.

The two days will help you understand:
• how to get started with R
• simple and multiple regression
• analysis of variance (Anova)
• model checking
• experimental design

This is also a great chance to meet students from around the country working in your research area.

Our workshop is aimed primarily at postgraduate students in animal science, but is also open to scientists in need of a refresher.

Some feedback from previous workshops:
This is a course I would recommend to any postgraduate student struggling with data analysis'
Solid introduction to R, solid overview of statistics in biological studies'
Really enjoyed the course - very worthwhile

Places cost £50 for student BSAS members, which includes all food and one night's accommodation. Non-BSAS members can attend the workshop for £125, plus accommodation and evening meal costs.

Places are limited to just 25, so book now to avoid disappointment!
